    WOW,

You sure you could handle all of the Mechanical "To-Do's" to actual enjoy that FJ :poking::poking:

Manual transmission, Lever handle for the transfer case and have to get out of the cab to "Lock" the hubs....:stirthepot::stirthepot:

Then again , you have proven to be an "Old soul" in a young whipper snappers body... :p

I got my licence in a diesel 1990 Hilux 4runner, right hand drive, manual transmission. My first vehicle was a '94 Toyota pickup with the 22RE motor and manual transmission. Driven many vehicles with manual locking hub too.

    I think I'll be fine. :D

Aaron, the first vehicle I bought brand new was a ‘75 Chevy Apache 1/2t short bed. I’m pretty sure it was the first model year that came with the automatic hubs.
I didn’t trust them and replaced them with warn manual hubs.
I find it a bit distressing that so many stupid incompetent and unprepared people can now just buy a vehicle that will virtually drive itself into the worst kind of trouble and they don’t even know it till it’s too late

I miss having a carburetor and a distributor that has contact points that you can file with a nail file and you turn it to adjust your timing.

    Now that is funny :fistbump::D

Can you see this "New generation" using a Timing light and adjusting for poor gas "Pinging" or to increase power.. Having to set the gap for points

and spark plugs ...Or carry a spare ballast resistor for driving in the "Rain" for the Mopar boys & girls.... :p

Asking them to work on carburetor with jets & seats....Blow their minds :boom:setting the "Float levels" and DON'T F@c& up the gasket set on

    the rebuild :annoyed:

Bringing back memories but the days of actually "Doing it" are long gone... If I wanted/needed to do cam bearings it would be on a Lage Car and

those now are also coming "Complete rebuilt heads only":(:(

    come with rebuilt heads only

The 57 Willys CJ5 that I rebuilt in HS way back in the day, had Dualmatic's. Those were a real pain.

Well Happy Late New Years Cru!!

I drove 9 hours New Years Eve from Colorado to home. Unpack, clean the truck and snuggle up for the night, we were sleeping by 9pm

Looking at real estate and reading papers written by lawyers are never my favorite thing to do but a necessary evil. Working on becoming a Colorado resident if things work out

That I seen but we are looking at a remote area that backs up to the BLM (Uncompahgre National Forest) in Montrose city but Ouray county. It is all land owned in a clump that is surrounded by the BLM which is what we were looking for

Maine is an awful place. Nobody should go there.. not even for vacation (even though it’s called vacationland). If you’re selling land there, I’ll help you out and buy it from you, though.

NH is where you want to be. VT is bad too
