I've been struggling to restore power to my tail lights, front and rear marker lights (not DRL), license plate lights and fog lights. I've checked all the fuses over three times (and all are good). This power failure happened all at once. The fuse box cover in the engine compartment shows the locations of relays for some of these but I'm looking for the power source to these so that I check that out. I would appreciate any incite from anyone who has resolved a similar issue. Thank you.

Did you find the problem. I have the same issue. I shorted out the license plate light installing backup camera. All fuses are good. checking relays next.

Did you check the harness running under the truck? At least to see if there is continuity from where the harness connects back up under the cab to the rear. That way you can find out if you have a short in the harness before trouble shooting relays and fuses.

Check the fuse box under L/h dash, I think the fuse is marked for “tail”

I'd seriously consider the Tail Relay.
One of the only things these 2 circuits have in common, as well as the light switch it self..

Members have also had issues with rodents chewing thru wires, which could be a possibility too.
Check your grounds with a digital multi-meter..
Sound like the circuit may not be getting grounded.

As well in the past, members have found crushed wiring under the truck, but that usually resulted in blown fuses..

    Good luck..

Forget to mention that already checked the tail fuse, it was blown and replaced. Brake lights OK, left/right turn signal OK, Head lights OK, Fog Relay OK. Haven't found the "tail" relay shown in schematic above. Doesn't appear in the fuse box under the hood. I've removed all bulbs to ensure no shorts there. Got a short somewhere, likely in the harness that I need to trace back. Trailer harness power is good.

Do the dash panel lights work?
Seems they feed off the tail relay as well.

As far as the relay location, it looks like it should be in the same fuse box as the tail fuse?
I could be wrong, I'm certainly not a mechanic..

Or not, I guess there are no relays there.

update...i was able to find the short...the only bulbs I didn't pull out both had shorts (front running/marker lights tucked inside each of the headlights). Then didn't have power, put the tail fuse back in the wrong location. feeling stupid but at least i was able to figure it all out and everything back together.
