I’m sure they’ve heard it all, so I’d probably say they could offer TRD OEM truck nuts.

Do you have a link to this survey?

My response would be, “Toyota refuses to enter the HD segment, and the only 1 ton truck Toyota makes is a midsize that is not offered on this continent. Can we PLEASE get an option for a heavy duty payload package? It’s the least you could do.”

On later builds (mine was August), the key fob DOES NOT remote start the vehicle. Toyota disabled it. My dealer tried multiple times and could not find a way to activate it. Very cheesy of them. I do not plan to be blackmailed by them when my year is up. I've tried all the hints here and the dealer trade multiple times with Techstream as well without success.

    For me:
    1. Same remote start complaint. It's idiotic the vehicle shuts off when you have the key in your pocket. That person should be in a 3x3 windowless room for life.
    2. Functioning cup holder. I bought the little plastic bit and it still won't keep my Zojirushi from falling out.
    3. Agree on turning circle. But I wanted a DC like my '08 and 6.5' bed (which doesn't exist). I also wanted HUD, cams, etc so I was stuck with either 1794 or Platinum. So, stuck there.
    4. Full time or auto 4WD.
    5. Yep. Front tow hooks.
    6. Massaging seats.
    7. Stay in set modes when restarted ("Sport").

I really like the cams, digital rear view mirror and general comfort. Mileage could be better but I knew that going in. The 32 gallon tank is a big help there. Oil changes are easy once the skid plate is dealt with - I find it a bit awkward.

    -Longer seat cushions in front
    - Key Fob range more than 10’ from truck
    - Auto climate control with remote start… hot in cold weather, cold in hot weather
    - Keep truck running when unlocking doors (remote start)
    - Bedrail stake pockets
    - Rear Steel Bumper
    - Remove cargo ‘system’ under backseat… dumb. My F150 had a small one for my needs, load floor more valuable when seats folded up to me.

Turn on the Fresh Air Intake button. Restart the truck. It will be off. Last 3 Toyotas with digital climate controls have all been the same. I have to select it after every start. (I like the fresh air intake open)

My 2024 works, my salesman wasn’t even aware. He said no one at the dealership knew. I do have to stand on my head and rub my belly to get it to work… and like that video, I need to be ~3’ from my truck for it to work. Horrible range. Horrible lag time.

From someone who really wanted to like the new Tundra enough to buy one instead of another Ford, my issues in order from most important to least important (exempting the near unanimous bumper and tow hook complaints) were:
    • 4 Auto (stop hiding behind durability - Ford, GM, and Ram have been doing this for many years and it doesn't appear to be a significant reliability issue for them)
    • Improve the front seats (too stiff - at least on the limited I drove)
    • Create a more usable back seat area (flat floor, cargo bins are way too big)
    • Improve the visibility (has the small window/high door panel feeling that I don't like from the GM trucks, though not quite as bad)
    • Remote Start (don't charge a subscription for a basic feature, and put a dedicated button on the key)

I remember seeing a post like this from the last generation and in my eyes Toyota addressed most of what we wanted but of course that comes at a price which has turned into one of the biggest complaints most have with the truck other than a V8 and tow hooks. My 20 Platinum was 55k and my 22 Platinum was 64k. I absolutely love my truck the way it sits. If I were to add something that didn’t cost much to change it would be an in cabin tailgate release for when the kids walk to the truck with hockey bags, I’d like more than 20 presets on the radio, I always loved the pause and rewind function of my older FM radio, a real split screen for the multimedia, the roof grab handles in the back seat to hang stuff more than just a hook, better interior lighting, and a standard bed step.

An active heater for the radar sensor so the slightest amount of snow doesn't disable it completely.

My climate control stays on fresh air through all starts and stops. I wonder if there is a way to set a profile associated with your key that gets set each time you start your truck?

Give us the new Sequoia grill. The poor Tundra has the most embarrassing grill in the history of trucks. I mean the Sequoia grill is not great at all but at least you can remove the figure skates hanging from your rear-view mirror with it.

Heated steering wheel only heats the outer rim. So your finger tips are touching cold part (inner rim). I have to hold the wheel differently (can’t wrap fingers around the wheel). Just annoying they can’t get this detail right. And I’ll echo everyone else on the remote start design.

    1. Make the remote start work like on every other 21st century vehicle - engine stays running when I open the door, and climate control sets automatically based on external temp
    2. Grab handles on A pillar like on F150
    3. More into on the display - you’ve got 14” of screen, give us a multipurpose display (including split screen), not just big ass fonts, and give us a climate control screen
    4. Move the controls on the left side of the dash to a place where you can actually see them - like put the heated steering wheel control with the climate control switches - use the big ass screen to mirror the rest
    5. Get rid of the underseat storage (or allow it to be removable) in the back so that we have more flat space with the seats raised - see F150
    6. Enable all the USB charging ports, including in the back seat, to work as media ports, not just the dash port which requires an obnoxious cable sticking out
    7. Open the OBD port so that we can customize a lot more than the few options Carista gives us - see ForScan for Fords (and for this who are not familiar with ForScan, you should look it up - you will be envious)

Is this supposed to work with all models, even without paying for the subscription services? I have a 2024 SR5 TRD OR and remote start works with the app, but then I disabled all of the app subscriptions since I wasn't going to be paying for their subscription services, and the remote start didn't seem to work from the fob after that. It's like I have to pay for the subscription services to keep the remote start function working? Or am I supposed to be able to do it from the fob, even without the subscription?
