Searching for 1st gen

Greetings all,
I am currently hunting for my next truck and my first Tundra. I want a 1st gen as I believe it is the perfect truck for my needs in terms of size, power and space. I just binged the 1st gen pictures thread and I absolutely need more!
Anyway, just thought I'd say hello as I lurk in the shadows and continue my hunt for the perfect hunting/camping rig. I am in the process of going through and looking for as much information as I can to help me make the best decision using the search function. In the meantime, feel free to chime in with your real-world experience with best year, worst year, etc. and why, or just point me to the right thread. It would really help out with what I have already read. I'm 99% sure I want a 4wd AC, so that is the focus of my mission.

Thank you. Looking forward to getting the most out of this forum. Hopefully it won’t be too long of a search process and I’ll be sharing pictures of my new rig sooner than later.

 

So, it's been a while and I have been actively searching for a truck but I think the holidays have slowed things down quite a bit. I did find this 2006 with 199k mi. that has spend most of its life in Colorado. I'll post the video of the undercarriage. Is this amount of rust something I should just walk away from or is this easily cleaned up? I'm not used to rust as I live in San Diego so any rust looks bad to me.

 

No opinions? I may be able to get it for under $9k
I have a friend going to look at it since he's much closer to it than I am. I think if he balks even just a little, I will move on and keep waiting for a SoCal/AZ truck.
