Front end clunk

Hey guys just wanted to post my findings I’ve read a lot of people have developed a front end clunk after rebuilding their front end which I had also. I replaced almost everything and my clunk was heard on the passenger side when suspension was cycling. I thought maybe the sway bar so I removed it completely and it was still there. After looking around and checking all the bolts I decided to grease my UCA’s ball joints I have the freedom off road UCA’s that say the ball joints come pre greased but after greasing my clunk went away so im assuming my ball joint was dry. This was the source of mine maybe others people’s are different but give them a check if you went with aftermarket UCA’s.

 

Yes, I have TC UCAs and they recommend greasing the bushings and dry lubeing the ball joint every 5-6k. I think that number is grossly off for the bushings (maybe a CYA tactic), but definitely on par for the ball joints.
