Is there a good way to tell whether used and new trucks online are 8 ft? VIN number does not seem to identify. Pics often hard to tell. None of the dealers know whats on their lot without going to with a tape.

Need a work truck (Tundra) with 8 ft bed and 4wd. Don't care about much else, no bling! Towing package helpful.

Most dealers should have a link to the factory window sticker just check that. My small dealer has a white one with 8 ft bed in CA. Or just call and tell them what you're looking for they'll find one and trade another dealer or order it.

When using the online Toyota shopping inventory tool there is an option to select an 8 ft bed on there.

Man I opened up the search radius to 500 miles and it only came back with 10 trucks and only one of those was actually on the dealers lot. The rest were in the build phase.

Thanks all. Toyota site did not filter for me, shows every model is available but 11 dealers said no. Cars.com and another site has some filters, only eight longbed trucks nationwide! Called six and they are sold or in transit. VT dealer orders worktrucks and has been source of past buys, can place order but six month wait is a problem with current maintenance issues.
35 years driving tacomas and looks like I may have to try a ford.

This is one of my pet peeves for truck shopping. Most mfgs and dealers don't have the bed size as a searchable filter so you have to filter for what you want otherwise and then check the text description, window sticker, or scour unreliable photos for that extra length just behind the cab. If you want a short bed, it doesn't matter much since that is the majority. But if want the 6.5' or 8', forget about it. This can be very frustrating.

To their credit, Toyota DOES have a bed length filter on the "Inventory" page that shows vehicles destined for dealers. You might get lucky there. But there are very few 6.5s, and far fewer 8s being built.

Office workers? WTF? I love the longbeds. They've always been rare. I will buy another if I find with low miles

Maxcat found this 8 footer on Marketplace in Wheeling WV. Private seller and pic’s show 160 miles on the odometer. Listing is 9 days old but is still active.
Not sure where your located but thought I would share since your having a tough time in your search. Seems like a decent deal on a practically new truck.
Hope I’m not breaking any rules here in sharing, just trying to help a fellow member and don’t have a dog in this fight.
