I think someone spent a load of money on having custom cams ground and found that it provided almost no improvement because the VVTI on these engines already does a really good job.

If anyone knows of someone else with different results please chime in.

    Not many yet, mostly stock.
Not heard nor read about cams.
    Maybe think Super Charger instead.

@ViktorG you heard anything about changing cams on the 5.7?

Yes, I worked with a custom cam company well before any other aftermarket cams were available and tried 2 different grinds on my NA Tundra with before/after dyno. They did not start making more power than stock until 5800 RPM. If you look at Monkeywrench cams, they say that most of the gains are at 6500+ RPM. Way too high for a most trucks unless you are heavily into racing.
I have not tried cams on my supercharged truck yet, and it now has a 7000 RPM redline, so I will be installing them and dynoing in the next year or so.
Cams on a stock NA truck with a stock redline will not provide any real benefit, and may actually be detrimental to performance in my experience.

Hey bud I just saw your post and am about to install a full whipple SC kit on my '16 5.7.
You mention you were about to play with the cams on your s-charged one have you done that and have you posted anything g about what you have found. This kit will give me about 550 ish at the crank and I was gunna try to move toward 600. If I over spin the charger to do this it's going to really try to heat soak the engine since the intercooler provided is very short
