I feel that. Just last year was actually like 5 years ago, and a few years ago was over a decade. Moves faster and faster the older I get.

 

I’ve had a theory on that for a long time. When I was 16 I was talking to my grandma.
“It’s interesting that when I was 5 my summer off of school felt like it was my entire life before I went back to school. When I was 10 my summer off felt like half my life. Now that I’m 16 my summer went by so fast.”

I then went on to say ”As I’ve got older a year of the life I’ve lived is a smaller percentage of my total life so when I was 5 the summer was a large precent of my life I’ve lived. Now that I’m 16 the summer is such a small percent of what I’ve lived it fells like it’s gone by so fast.”

we both talked about this for hours.


She’s now 95 years old and still talks about this conversation we had almost 30 years ago. Her take is that each year now feels like a month.

It's a fun thought exercise if nothing else. Time is all about perception anyway, so this perspective is a fun one to toy with.

My favorite beer?
A 24-ounce Modelo, it's not a heavy fufu beer, just a nice light pilsner.
The cans aren't as heavy as the bottles for some reason.
I'm having one right now since I got off work 30 minutes ago.
It's a beer that has taste, unlike the watered-down shit you drink.



I'm a big fan of most Mexican beers.
On a whim, I'll have a Negra Modelo.
One of those and you'd be shitfaced, and it's only 5.4 ABV.
My goodness if we got a Chimay or 2 in you would probably flatline..

I also like a variety of other beers.
No IPA, very few ales, and occasional Shiner, Stella, Heineken, Dallas Blonde, etc..
Certainly, no high-end thick stuff you are referring to, although I do relish a draft Guinness or 2 on a special occasion.

You need to realize a couple of things;*
1. I don't give a fuck what beer you drink, how cheap it is, how fat you are, or that women won't fuck you (if women are your thing?).

2. In my post "Who the fuck drinks Ultra" YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE THAT RESPONDED.
It was a joke but you took it personally, at least enough to respond to it.
Perhaps you have some deep-seated issues that you feel inferior about your choice of brew.
If that is the case, please refer to 'thing' number 1 above and get your shit together..

As I left work tonight I told dispatch I wasn't coming in Friday.
"Why' they asked?
Because I don't feel like it and I'd like a 4-day weekend..
Their response?
"HAPPY NEW YEAR, see you on the 2nd".
So don't try to ruin my good time...

They wheeled her out about 7:20am. Expecting surgery to run till 2-3pm possibly. Lots of sitting and waiting.

 

My daughter is done with surgery and the neurosurgeon said it went great! We are just waiting to see her after the anesthesia wears off. From here they will do an xray to decide if ortho needs to do anything more but the doc said she feels really good about what she did so hopefully no other procedure is needed.

 

That would be a good way to Start 2024....
