Victor would probably still drive the original transmission if he kept changing ATF at 50k miles intervals. The symptom of what got broke ("slipping going uphill") is the definition of completely worn out clutches, because he drove it until friction modifiers have depleted and the transmission started eating itself out.

Keep changing transmission fluid, folks, and it will make to 1M miles!

IIRC from the first million mile article, he hot shots often for big oil companies that need critical parts fast. Lots of fast freeway with some of the worst roads at the end headed to a drilling platform or base of operations. Personally, I doubt he went 55 mph everywhere.

Either way, one million mile truck is amazing. A second million mile truck is just crazy. I really hope Toyota trades him for a new tundra again and tells him to go nuts.

I can confess 2nd Gen Tundra is so well designed and built for "no pavement" travel. For example, recently I did a nub mistake and let the front suspension freeze overnight. CV joints, ball joints, sensors - everything froze in one giant blob of ice. I was ready for replacing half of suspension, as it would certainly happen with my cross-country Volvo. Guess what happened? Nothing. Not a single rubber boot pinched or torn. It just cracked the ice down the road and had shaken it off. Even plastic in wheel arch didn't crack, because it is not as brittle in frost as other brands have. Had to break 2" ice on the way back and push it aside with bumper and suspension, again nothing got bent, torn or otherwise damaged. Wow!

He has DOT/MC numbers on his truck. This means he is pulling into weight stations. For the times I've been pulled into DOT mobile stations the officers look at tire rating, truck ratings, and scale the vehicle/trailer. Overload fines aren't bad and maybe he just pays them (20.00 per 1000 lbs). I'm pretty sure he doesn't regularly have 2700 lbs in his bed.

We can do our own little test. Someone just needs to go to HD and have them remove 8 bags from a pallet of 80 lb bags and load it in the bed. Drive around a week or so and return the pallet for a refund.

I wonder how many idle hours the engine has in addition to the miles? He drives hot shot in the Gulf South. Unless he is hanging out in the shipping office waiting for his load, I bet he is running the AC in August.

Look at those inner fender wells. Crushed in the shape of a 2700# pallet.
