Definitely a new bed panel, taillight and bumper cap (to be made whole). There appear to be gouges in the metal of the bed panel. You'd need to find an absolute stud of a bodywork guy to fix that. Sadly another artform going by the wayside because it's just cheaper to replace these days. How close is the dealer? That's where I would take it.

Probably too late for this hint. I once had a hit and run to my company truck in front of my house. They left a small amount of paint and enough of a clearance light to identify it as a 93-95 Ford Ranger. I knew within an hours time of when it happened so I waited for that gold Ranger to come by the house. It took about a week but I saw the damaged Ranger come around the corner and followed him home. Called the LEO and they matched the broken lens to his truck and arrested the guy on the spot.

All for nil since he didn't have insurance.

No disrespect to you, but I don't recommend this for the OP in this day and age. Without getting P-wordy, Canada (and the USA now too) makes it hard enough to defend yourself should trouble arise, I can't imagine how they'd treat you "hunting" someone else.

I would 100% hunt that SOB down. You don’t have to engage, just surveil. Once the perp and the location have been identified, notify LEO. If the perp spots me and wants to start something, I am the trouble he should be worried about, not the other way around.

I understand completely. I filed a police report after I discovered the damage. When I saw the Ranger coming I got in my car and followed from a distance and never got out of my car. Other than driving past the house where the jackwad stopped I never got closer than about 100 yards.

I know. All I was saying / suggesting is that people are stupid. Sadly our judicial system is now stupider.

This was 20 years ago. Our local PD had Chevy Malibu patrol cars. Not one 4wd vehicle. I was the go to guy when the snows hit and they got stuck. They got a hand me down HD motorcycle and I installed all the lights and radios on it for free. Gotta love small towns.

If is not your fault your insurance will wave your deductible but you have to ask and be insistent about it. I just had the same happen on my 2013 few months back, it was about $2100in damage.

Finally dropping my truck off Monday AM. Have to pull the cap and empty it of valuables over the weekend.

@ColoradoTJ pretty much nailed the insurance quote- $4200 CAD. Pending onsite reassessment. They do the initial evaluation from pictures I sent them. Bizarre.

Hopefully it comes back good as new. No holding my breath, and prepared to raise a stink if not. ;)

It sure is amazing how fast those bedsides and bumpers add up to. I need to replace my front bumper on the truck and going to a paint matched is around 900.00 and that is with this guy painting it.:eek2:

Cleaning the Tundra out this morning, getting it ready to drop off. Got looking at the damage again. The bedside collapsed just enough to rub the edge of the tailgate. Can’t help but think the @TOTAL CHAOS bed brace kept it from being worse. IMG_9886.jpg
