Pre-Filter size for Stillen Dry Filter

I’ve got Stillen CAI with dry filter and got the OTT tune as well and love my truck , but because the Stillen CAI gets air from the grill as well and in rainy conditions I don’t know how much water gets in the air box I want to run pre filter cover . Anyone knows which one of the two I have to get size wise for the Stillen dry filter ? That’s the Stillen filter if it helps !

 

Measure your filter and then order from https://filterwears.com/. I have a stillen tube and have driven in heavy rain. No water on my filter but won’t hurt for the peace of mind. But keep in mind that those pre filters also get saturated.

 

I have a Stillen and have driven in the heaviest of rains with it, box and filter were bone dry every time. Unless you are water fording I wouldn't waste my time with a prefilter and use their block of kit instead. With the filter sock, you'll end up chocking out the engine since it won't flow well. If you are dead set on using a prefilter put it over the front intake nozzle instead.

Thanks man . I drove the other day in heavy rain but didn’t have time to open and check the airbox and filter ! I’ve seeing other people talk about not getting water inside the air box , but thanks for the reply ! I’ll stay away from it and check it out next time when I drive in heavy rain !!!

 

No worries. If you drive through deep enough water you’ll kick up enough to get in the box. You would have to try pretty hard to saturate the filter. I threw codes with the sock on the filter. Block off or sock the nozzle will work out better. I cut a custom clear lid out of poly so I can see in the box without unscrewing the lid.

Lexan has a higher temp threshold but prone to scratching, expensive too. Acrylic won’t scratch but is right at the heat threshold especially in desert heat, cheaper too.
