2023 Tundra Limited - Canadian VIN

Hello!

I am currently on hold with Toyota Canada. I purchased a used Tundra 23 Limited from a dealership here in Illinois. It turns out the VIN is a Canadian VIN. I called my local Toyota Dealer to work on the recalls for the fuel tube and to get my extra key and they told me they can't work on Canadian VINs. Is this true? I spoke to someone at Toyota USA and she eventually transferred me over to Toyota Canada. Am I screwed here!?

 

I bought my BMW EV from a Cdn dealership who imported it and took care of all the paperwork. The car was 2 1/2 years old at the time. I decided to reach out to BMW Canada about getting some of the services hooked up so I could use the connected features. They didn't seem very helpful. Then I decided to get a OEM warranty on the car so I went to BMW and they sold me one and this seemed to help get the VIN in the system. From that point on, I was able to get warranty work and use the services.

I am not sure if that will help in your case but it did for me. Hope you get it straightened out.

 

I just got off the phone with Toyota Canada and they told me that this is not true. Called the service manager at the dealership and he also indicated that this is not true as well. Apparently someone just wanted to give me the run around. Hopefully this is not an issue going forward.
