Thanks for the correction. I didn't realize my 2015 had a 26 gal tank. I do recall never getting much over 300 miles of range on a full tank, though. I've gotten over 500 miles of range on my 3rd Gen a few times, so that's a big improvement for me. Combine that with the overall improved ride quality of the 3rd Gen and I'm very happy with mine in nearly 8000 miles, so far.

Retrax. Uptop AFS bed rack. Condor XL. Dobinson rear springs. BFG 35/12.5/r18. BD light bar and ditch lights. Prinsu roof rack. Diode dynamics fog upgrade.
I was actually referring to the 32g tank, my truck came with that but I want a bigger tank. Long Range America did respond and say they are working on it. But would prefer a main tank replacement.

You still have to stop to fill it. Glugging gas out of a gas can is really slow. LOL

Or when you're landing especially on an aircraft carrier. All fuel out of wings and externals; internal bag only. Had one of my Tomcats overstress the airframe over blue water, fuel dump inop, no option to divert. Jet was a hangar queen the remainder of deployment and had to be craned off when we got to Norfolk.

+1. This is what ruled out the GM 1500 series pickups for me.

What are the chances dealer can do the swap when they drop the old tank for the fuel line recall? Probably 0%

    Edit:typo

The dealer that’s doing my recall is adding the 32 gal Tank Protector and needed straps, zero labor charge.
Getting parts and labor quote for the 32 gal tank makes sense, even if you decide not to do it.

Anyone know if the 32 could replace the 26 on a second gen, without too much cutting ?

Is there a reason you'd want to swap in a 3rd gen 32 Gal tank when the 2nd/ 2.5 gen offer a larger 38 gal tank?

You'd save approx 36 lbs in fuel by going with the 32 gal tank. So, let's say less than 50 lbs total with the weight of the tank. That weight savings you speak of is not worth it, IMO if you're going through with the expense of swapping out fuel tanks on top of the fact the 3rd gen's tank prob won't fit a 2nd/2.5 gen.

i am curious about the fit.
I’m thinking the 32 tank has to be smaller than the 38 one though.

Not sure if your aware but not a single part was shared between the 2nd/2.5 gen and the 3ed gen? As in the 3ed gen does not share a single part with the previous generations. You're better off pondering if the tank from the 1st gen will fit. Its the same as asking hey I got this 34 gallon F-150 tank and want to install it on my tundra (they aren't the same truck is what I'm saying). Go ahead and buy 32 gallon third gen tank and give er a try for "the weight savings" over the 38 gallon 2.5 gen....then pop on here asking how you can make that 3ed gen tank work on a 2ed gen truck.... we could all use a good laugh. Can't tell if you're trolling or.....

Well, yeah. I'd assume a 32 gallon is smaller than a 38 gallon as well. But I was speaking more to their differences in shape (how they fit the contours of their respective MY Tundras) and the positions of the filler neck, fuel pump, sensors, harnesses, mounting points, etc. I don't think a 3rd gen tank on a 2nd gen will work.
