That’s why it is special when I host a pulled pork barbecue. It’s definitely something that people around here don’t get on a regular basis

No daily limits on feral hogs in SC - maybe that’s why we have so much pulled pork

I swore your take on W.NC was what I usually get when I'm there. We used to drop the kids off there for a couple weeks every summer and that's what I remember, mustard, ketchup, vinegar, sugar. But I was curious, and found this: https://www.tasteofhome.com/collection/regional-barbecue-sauce/

Which doesn't mention the mustard at all. But does mention the vinegar. Seems like everyone has their own take.

That’s why each contestant in BBQ Pit Masters (even from the same region) has their own recipe, rub and sauce.

Pulled pork as great. My favorite BBQ is beef ribs, followed by brisket

Same-same. But it's really unusual to find beef ribs anywhere over here.

Nice! Dad has a pellet smoker and ran a couple of racks for 5 hours @ 275 and they came out awesome. Sad I didn't take pics now.

150k mile, fully maintained '00 AC Limited V8/4WD in Shelby NC for $6k. Only has a couple of cosmetic issues on the bed, shifty`approved frame. New bed and it'd be solid.

We did Franklin's in Austin once. Threw a football and had a few drinks in the parking lot since you have to get there ~3hrs before they open.
    Franklin's.jpg

We hit up Das BBQ in Midtown (Atl) not long ago; I'd do it again.
Red State in Lexington KY is pretty good eatin' too.

We've hit up several states for BBQ, we're fans

I'm gonna disagree on this one. That thing is rough inside and out. Something is off with the paint on the driver side doors. It would need to be priced closer to $4k in that condition. It needs a new front bumper too.

Yeah, looks like clear coat weirdness on it. Typical for the green and red ones. Cosmetically not great, front bumper, rear bumper, a bed needed to be nicer, but I think you could manage to get all that for under $1k. Given the lack of frame rust beyond what appears to be superficial on the rear axle housing, some interior cleanup, not bad for $6k knowing it’s just got 150k miles on it and is V8 w/4WD.

I think anything nicely optioned and under 160k-180k miles with V8/4WD that’s clearly a southern solid-frame truck is worth it if under $8k. EDIT: Not like you can get a similar-year Taco for that price with those features.

Went for a walk downtown last night, to see the lights and all. The local Lexus dealer brought a dozen or so Lexi, and parked them together with giant red bows on top...I guess in case I needed a last minute gift idea?
