The plastic color matched fender flares are rubbing the paint off the bumper. The heat is making the plastic expand a lot which is what I believe is causing the issue. Suggestions on a fix? Is anyone else experiencing this?Fender flare rub 2.jpg Fender flare rub.jpg

The rear OEM mud flap did similar to the rear panel. I only noticed when removing and replacing with RekGen.

I just checked my 23 limited and it had a little bit of paint removed from rubbing on each front side. I didn’t notice it in the back where it meets the bumper.

The chipping was luckily barely visible from the outside and only mostly behind the fender flare, I touched it up with some paint and added some automotive silicone in the areas where it seemed to be rubbing on the plastic bumper. Hopefully this helps and if it tries to rub the silicone will prevent paint wearing off. The silicone is not noticeable at all and looks like nothing is there. I put a very small bead along the inside edge of the flare and let it dry before clipping it back in.

Thanks for the response, this is exactly what I planned on doing. What automotive silicone did you go with?

I used permatex RTV clear adhesive sealant Silicone. I just used some plastic clip remover tools to pull back on the fender wheel well trim and added a small amount where it was rubbing. Doesn’t really seem like there is any other solution that I could come up with.

I agree, that's what I came up with also after researching ways to fix it. I was thinking about taking it to the dealer, but they usually do more harm than good.

I just noticed same issue happening to
23 lunar rock behind both front fender flares. Guess I’ll pick up some touch up paint and silicone. Would unpainted off-road or trd pro flares be better to not cause rubbing?
