2.5 GEN TAIL LIGHTS

I have scoured the internet looking for OEM tail light housings that have no chrome. I would like the chrome piece on the tail lights to be black in color.

Does anyone know where I can purchase such a thing? Does this even exist?

I purchased VLED LEDS (which was pretty pricey) for all exterior lighting that was regular bulbs so I don't really want to change out the rear tails for something like morimoto.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Didn't @TRDFerguson also do something to his taillights to black out the chrome?

You could always buy this at AutoZone and cover the chrome up.

 

It's very cost effective.

With the money your saving you can buy that guys radio.

 

Then I'd have to buy another rig to put it in.

I did a vinyl on mine that covers the sides.

 

Given that those are you reverse lights you'll probably want to replace the bulb with something brighter if you either paint or tint that section.

 

I took my old OEM tails apart and color matched that spot. You can do the same with black. Looks super clean since the color is behind the lens, not on the surface. Then I blacked everything else out except the chrome bowls holding the bulbs. I do believe @TRDFURGUSON did the same. (Who did it first? We may never know.)
