When I purchased my 1794 tundra, the only one with 6.5’ bed that I can get my hand on doesn’t come with power running board. It does have the TRD boards and while it’s working for me, my wife and kids having a hard time getting into the truck. The powered running boards work great because it’s lower. my question is; if I purchase the boards separately, could the shop still able to install it? I was told that u can get it with the trd off-road package.
    thanks you.

I’m handy but probably not that handy. Anyone know the average cost to take off the trd boards and install these Rhino boards?

Take off TRD boards is no problem. Just a few bolts.

Rhino has (IMO) a Rube Goldberg wiring and magnet setup. Sorely disappointed.

I'd get OEM if it were an option for me and ditch my TRDs, but @ryanwgregg that's not really an option is it??

I was under the impression that Rhino were better because they have dual motors

I have an SR5 that I finally got around to installing my factory running boards on. They are in the down position because I've yet to have time to make a harness. I bought all the OEM parts sans a wire harness. I don't think one is available for just the steps. The running boards have their own ECU that ties in to power and the BCM.

I have the Go Rhino E1. The setup is great. I have had no issue and its gets used daily. I got it installed this summer. The boards stay surprisingly dry, even when it rains out. I didn't expect that. The boards tuck up nicely against the bottom of the truck and provide great clearance when the doors are closed.
I would definitely buy these running boards again.

That’s one sexy truck! How much did it cost u to have it installed? Also I wonder if anyone would like to buy the trd on mine if I’m gonna have the powered one.

    Thanks!

Here is the itemized receipt for the parts and labor.

There is also a switch they install that allows you to turn off the boards from being deployed when the doors are open.
