Afternoon all! I had to install a new battery in my 2018 Tundra Wednesday. After installing, the truck started and died. I’m sure that was because of an ECM adaptation reset. It ran fine after that but the SRS warning stays illuminated on the dash. Anyone know about a way to reset that without a $600.00 code scanner or another trip to the Toyota store on a weekday? It’s an SR with a 4.6 engine. Any help appreciated! BTW I had it at a Toyota dealership today and they only had the quick oil change people in.

Check fuses in the e-box both engine and cab.

And typically, battery disconnect will clear codes - so maybe try that again.

Well no joy on any blown fuses. Btw the fuse box in the cab ain’t the easiest on I’ve ever had to get to. Remove left lower door sill cover, left kick panel and the box is way up over a bundle of wiring.

I just paid a shop $125 to scan the truck and show me that the front impact sensor (which is directly in front of the battery) yellow harness got bumped while replacing the battery. Fully plugged it back in and the issue was solved.

Yeap, always trace the movement of what happened around the work that was done. Shit gets displaced and broken around it :) We all been there
