Had the same question when I first got my Tundra. Unfortunately the answer is nope as far as splitting the screen. I did just read in another thread you can use voice commands to do things like tune in a radio station. Haven't tried it yet.

You can switch it by using the button on the steering wheel.

You can't split screen (which is kind of dumb with such a large screen), but pressing the "mode" button on the steering wheel lets you switch between audios sources without leaving carplay.

Tried the button on steering wheel this morning and it worked fine for change radio stations.

Press button (lower left next to volume looks like person talking) and say "fm 100.3". It tuned to that station.

I also figured out how to add favorite radio stations which allows you to use the LEFT RIGHT buttons next to MODE to cycle through those favorite stations.

Now if we could just get rid of the Amazon, Apple Music, and Sirius XM bloatware of we don't intend to use it that'd be great. The extra modes are a PITA as you cycle through the modes you want and seemingly cannot be turned off.

I wish they'd let us save the setup to whatever it is before we shutdown the truck. It's really like going through a pilot flight pre-check every time starting it up.

It was just one post in a thread about something else. I tried to find which one it was but came up empty. Basically said what has been posted here in the mean time.

I agree that it's silly we can't split the screen between Car Play (or Android Auto) and the Toyota screen with all that real estate on the big screen. One thing not mentioned in this thread is that if you have the big screen displaying CP or AA but the radio is playing an FM station, you can "see" what is playing using the MID. Scroll through the MID options using the left and right arrows on the left side of the steering wheel.

I complained about the split screen thing in a couple of surveys Toyota sent and maybe if more people did that something might get changed (I know, wishful thinking). I don't think it would be that big of an effort on Toyota's part to fix this. Basically a first world problem I've gotten used to.
