Stupid question about my "new" 2021

The cab has two microphones now? I have this microphone now, along with the one in the overhead console like my 2016 has. When did that happen? I can't find anything about it in the manual. Is it a meaningful improvement? I like where it is positioned but haven't used it yet. It will definitely get it broke in tomorrow at work. LOL

Don't worry, they still can't hear you and you can only hear them if you turn it all the way up. Just like your 2016. Terrible Bluetooth calls in my Tundra

I believe the overhead console mic is only active with the SOS system.

 

The one above the visor is Safety Connect for SOS, monitoring your voice for indications of an accident, etc...

The one on the left is your traditional blue tooth one

Any microphone can do that. I talk to myself. A lot. LOL

 

There’s no mic in the overhead console anymore (2020-21). The only mic that exists is in the one above the driver in the headliner. They didn’t bother to change the mold for the overhead console to delete the grill/clips for the mic in the other location but there is nothing there.

I’ve pulled my console down several times, so I know there was no mic there. I also bought an aftermarket mic to put in that spot to connect to my aftermarket head unit.

 

I heard on talk radio that you don't even need em, they're just an egg head government plot.

That's what I thought too. When my wife and I are in the truck together and she tries talking through carplay, she has to lean over to the driver side just to be heard on the other end of the phone.
