The wheels on that long bed are perfect. I also had a 79 510 and that was one of the finest vehicles (for its time) I have ever driven. Sold it with250k on it and it was still running great. That was remarkable back in those days.

Just upgraded from a 22 Tacoma trdor to a 22 Tundra CMLB as a better support vehicle for towing my drift cars: an imported 1993 Toyota Mark II Tourer V and 1993 Nissan 240sx.

 

I had an S1

I had a s14 with a sr20 notch back swapped with a GT2871r with roughly 380 ish wheel HP it was fun. I then proceeded to stick with Subaru STIs having a an 08 hatch and my bought brand new 16. There is no more STIs and soon to be no more GTRs, it is a sad day indeed.

 

SR GT2871 is such a good tried and true setup. My 240 is just a stock KA24de with a 4.6 welded diff and angle and suspension arms, it handles incredibly well but is sooo slow especially after getting in the JZX with a 1JZGTE haha. I owould have loved to get into S chassis before they skyrocketed in price. Now shells are $3k+ and any decent one is going to run you $10k+

 

yeah this was in the mid to late 2000s, It was a super fast car though and would keep up with and smoke some sport bikes. I figured they would sky rocket in price at some point but so has all desirable JDM gems we got in the states. How did you go about importing your Toyota? I would love to import some rare stuff but if it is like my sr20det motor that sat in customers for almost 3 months, that sucked as I wanted patiently everyday to get it released. Worth it in the end though.

 

I bought mine thru an importer that had already gotten it in the states but I was previously working with an importer directly trying to find the exact car I wanted in Japan. I got it right before the crazy inflation and all the hype behind importing, sometime around 2018-19 I think. It's not very difficult to get one but a lot of the imported ones are very flawed and it's not unheard of to get a rough one. Expect a premium nowadays haha
