Roll Over Valve

I developed the same fueling issue many of you have talked about, like you went to several station attempting to fuel your Tundra. All of you know you ain't going far unless you can get fuel in there. I'm 76 and had to go it alone removing tank that had to much fuel in it and researching all. I realized this valve is a check valve to prevent the displace air while fueling to escape up the fill pipe carrying gas vapors out to atmosphere. It is spring activated that holds the flapper against the bottom of fill pipe forcing fuel to be columnized to displace air threw the charcoal canister that removes the vapor discharging the air above pump nozzel in fill pipe. I guess this flapper will wear or due to gas sloshing around in tank will stick closed with the weight of gas not being heavy enough to dislodge it that will back up and trip the fill spout. There was one guy on here who said he worked this flapper over with a screwdriver now works great. I wanted to comment on another way to overcome this problem, in that I took a 6-32 6" all thread installed 2 6-32 nuts on top tightening them in opposite direction to give something to screw it down thru the anti-siphon screen all the way down that holds the flapper valve open to where it does not contact the fill pipe to become stuck. The siphon screen is made of heavy duty plastic that has a ring in the center that will accept the 6-32 all tread threading it's way down to flapper. After reviewing all, I realized you can remove the fill tube and work this rod down from the top without removing tank or fighting all the hoses. You can use a mirror and light to see what you're doing or unbolt the bed and slide it back giving you access. This is certainly easier than removing the tank that can be done in about half hour.

Im actually sitting at the stealership now to see if I have the same problem. The insight you provide is excellent! Hopefully, my extended warranty will cover it, if not, Ill be doing this myself. The last thing I need is another project!
