Rough country M1

Anyone use the rough country M1 levelling struts?

I was told they’re bilstein shocks. I ordered a set a few weeks ago, still waiting.

 

Putting some on next week. Will report back after running them for a while

 

So far they have been great for me! No complaints.

 

I’d love to hear some feedback on the M1’s once you have them installed!

 

I’ve got no complaints. Gave me 2” lift in the front and ride quality is same as stock

 

Thanks! I’m considering these in the future and am happy to hear that ride quality isn’t sacrificed.

 

Putting these into a buddy's truck as we speak. Question though: he got the 3/1 kit with coilovers pre-set. The kit came with spacers. I thought the whole reason to install coilovers was to get away from spacers. The coils are set on the highest level.

Do I really need to use the spacers?

 

I assume the coilovers only give you 2" so the spacer makes up for the rest?

 

We didn't install them. Without lifting the rear, the coilovers put us at damn near level.

 

An LCA bolt damn near had us beat but we pulled the factory skid plate off and was able to get er loose. The whole job only took 3 beers.

 

Did he get a chance to test the M1s?

 

He's gonna hit me up once he gets home. About a 40 min drive.

 

Just got the call and he said it rides like butter and doesn't even wander. We marked the cams and had to use a ratchet strap to move the LCAs into position while turning cams to line up the marks. Still didn't think we'd get it great but he seems to think the alignment is pretty close to what it was before we touched it. He's got a 9AM appt at Firestone tomorrow so we'll see.

 

We were pretty damn close to spec.

 

Have around 700 miles on mine now. Got 2 1/4” inches of lift in the front, added Coachbuilder +2 shackles in the back so I have a bit of rake. Put on 285-60/20 ridge grapplers 2 weeks ago and couldn’t be happier. Ride is better than stock and the M1s handle bumps very well.
