I took the truck into the shop the other day to get a new starter put in and I guess the tech wrecked the heat shield while he was getting it out. My question is if I am liable for that?
I know the bolts were eroded to an 8mm and tbh they were basically rust welded hence why I took it in, but I don't want my pants pull down over parts.

Caught them in a blatant lie, tech stated that he had to break off all the bolt to the heat shield, I get there today and I see one bolt sheared off and the other 2 were new. I asked dude at service, why is there a bolt missing? and why out of the 6.3 hr's the tech couldn't drill and tap wile he had the manifold out? CRS askes tech and tells me he would have had to replace the manifold. If that was the case, the tech states he broke all 3 bolts then by that logic that would call for a new manifold? I could have broken bolts myself! My fault for expecting quality service I guess?

I called them out on it and got a discount.
