I have a 17 TRD pro and love it. Biggest thing would be the cam tower leak issue. If you don’t know about it, use the search feature here.

My 17 has been a great Truck. Some don't like FFV but mine has never given me a problem. I've never put a drop of E-85 in it either. The Cam towers on mine are dry as a bone. I'd try to get all the history on it I could maintenance wise. See if they will put it on a lift and let you look it over and under

As noted above, check the cam towers. Otherwise my 2017 has been rock solid.

As stated earlier. Rust. How many miles on the truck you’re looking at?

Sunfish also had a great point: if it’s a FFV, I would probably be a bit hesitant. I know there are lots of them out there with zero issues, but by having a gas truck it’s one less thing to worry about.

Thanks for the info. Not sure if it is ffv. It's a
    3UR-FE 5.7L engine.

Look for a weeping water pump, look for coolant leak near the transmission, check for cracks in the frame, check for leaks at the 3rd member, ask if the truck has ever been in an accident, and check if the gaps between body panels are consistent.

Edit: Also check if the receiver hitch has been used a lot, which is a sign of towing and that you should really do a thorough job checking how the transmission shifts.

The only thing with the 17' that I'd worry about is the extensive and neverending desire to mod and enjoy!
