On the driver side, could potentially slide onto the accelerator. Should the local Toyo dealer provide or order some anchors for me at no cost or will they tell me to kick rocks ???
Truthfully I have no issue buying some less than 10$
But I know around 2009 when I bought my new Taco their was legal issues with loose carpets pushing accelerators and a steel plate getting welded to the brake pedal support or close to it. I just wonder if that avenue has been closed or will Toyota give these anchors away ??

I think it would be worth a shot to ask for free ones since it is a safety issue.
All they can do is say NO..:D

Although I think they may be sewn into the carpet..

Indeed I just wonder if their were any legal stipulation requiring Toyota to provide anchors on the premise that 2$ parts Toyota cost vs a multi million dollar lawsuit seems logical.

I don't see why they would have to replace them for free on a 10+y old truck.

Seat belts are required but if you damage yours, they won't give you a free one.

Open up the wallet and pay the $3.49 or whatever they charge you.

It's been a long time since the Toyota floor mat "problem" was current news, but if I remember correctly, there wasn't an actual problem with the design of the pedals or floor mats. I think there were a few cases of people with double mats piled up and getting stuck, a water bottle or 2 that rolled under a pedal, etc.
They spent millions and even had NASA engineers go over their designs with a fine tooth comb and they found nothing.
In the end, the DOJ still made Toyota pay a 1.2 billion$ fine and they still modified their pedals and floor mats.
My point is that I wouldn't be concerned.
I put husky mats in my 2011 and then put them in my 2015. 7 yrs in 2 trucks and don't think I bothered with the stupid little locks. The only purpose they served was to collect crud.

The all weather mats are fitted and won't move around. Grab a set.
