There could be more to it that I'm leaving out (I'm not an expert) but basically it changes the fuel mapping and shift points.

Holds gears a bit longer, revving higher up into the powerband before shifting.

Also makes the gas pedal respond sooner so you don't have to step on it as much.

    Welcome.

It’s a combination of programming the throttle valve to be more open and changing the shift points.

The off the line oomph you feel is the throttle valve being slightly more open than normal mode. You can actually reprogram it if you have something like an HP Tuner.

As a made up example, if you step on the accelerator 5% the throttle valve opens up 2%, whereas in TH mode the throttle valve is at 4%.

It really does! Even with my trailer hooked I've been surprised by it a couple of times.

I have a dual tune with the normal using the low octane fuel then press the tow/haul button and it is the tune for 91 octane. I got a OV tune

Should be called the "Haul Ass" button, especially on a supercharged truck when you fully disengage the traction/VSC. Truck feels entirely different as far as acceleration and response!

I'll have to use that one.

Usually I hit it, come up to the stop light, look at the old man/lady in the car next to us and say to her "Does this guy look like he wants to race?", then give it a few revs.

She's moritifed by this point and then I rip off the line with both kids laughing in the back.
