Was wonder if anyone has Plasti-Dipped the chrome on their bumpers and how well it’s held up and how many coats you used. I did a small test spot with 4 coats on my rear bumper and it seemed to stick pretty well. Not sure how well the front will work, especially going through car washes. When I removed the test spot I did, it came off pretty easy.

I did 4 coats of plasti-dip followed by rattle can bed liner (2 coats front and 1 coat rear cause that's all I could do with what I bought lol). Its been a year and a half of the truck living out side from negative weather with ice all over the truck to extreme Texas summer hear. I have used the pressure washer and had no issues and I don't see any rock chips.

Looks good, do you remember how many coats you put on? Really appreciate the quick feedback

    Thanks!

I did 3 coats and it's held up well for about 2 years. I sprayed the grey lower center part of the front bumper, too.

I've scraped the bumper against stuff a couple of times and it'll peel a hole in the dip. Rather than peel and respray I've just sprayed a couple more coats over the hole. Good enough and way better than chrome!

Well, it looks like I’m going to try it as well any idea how many cans it will take, I’m planning on 4 coats. Any special prep, I was planning on just cleaning it with rubbing alcohol

Make sure the cans and bumper are fairly warm. You can submerge them in warm water. Be sure everything is COMPLETELY dry by taking a leaf blower to it to scare out any water hiding in cracks like the fog lamps. Then, let it sit overnight after cleaning. Use one of those spray can trigger handles.

Tape the edges up and remove the tape right after spraying the last coat.
