Installed the JL oil catch can, pretty straight forward! Heard good things about this.

Are the secondary AIP a problem for the 2.5 gen? Or just being proactive on it?

I’ve been eyeing an oil catch can. Had one on my last truck and it caught all the nasty stuff.

@pvn.beluga - the catch can looks kinda close to the + battery terminal in your photo. Perhaps an illusion.

To answer your question - yes it was plug and play. Easy peesy. That is such a strange response from them because when I had first purchased it (literally as soon as it came out), it was advertised (I swear it was in at least one of their videos and/or ads; maybe an influencer) that it was plug and play for all 7 pin harnesses. I have a 4 pin harness on my FJ and after adding a 4 pin to 7 pin adapter, it was plug and play as well for the FJ.

Check the build link in my signature.
in a warm climate, just get it positioned in the sun, open the door, look for the black edge, pick at it with your fingernail and then start slowly peeling away. If it’s cool/cold out, then use a heat gun to soften it as you peel.

I don’t think it took 30 minutes per side.

Thanks buddy, you're the reason I went w +35 and not +15. I think its a cleaner look even though 20mm isn't much of a difference. I was debating bronze but my wife said it looks ghetto....

New tires yesterday. I had BFG KO2's and love the look of them but they've had to have changed their rubber compound over the past few years. I rotated them religiously every 5k miles and they were flat worn out and wearing funny at 40k miles.

Went with the Les Schwab Open Range AT Plus 275/70/R18's. Apparently a brand new version and not much info out there yet.

Since my old but new 2021 is 2 weeks old I managed to add few things to it, and my 2013 is hating that I have all my attention on the 2021 :)

    - Autobahn Ceramic i3 tint - 50% Windshield and 15% all around
    - Bakflip MX4 Tonneau Cover
    - CarQI Wireless Charger Center Console Organizer Tray
    - CPLAY2air - Wireless iPhone CarPlay
    - And the list is growing day by day.

IMG_5470.jpg IMG_5468.jpg Did a bmc and flattened the seam. Also took the heat gun to it too. I also drilled new holes at the bottom to hold the liner away from tire. I already made room on the front bumper a few months ago. I’m getting 35X12.50R18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers on Wednesday. If I don’t have any rubbing, which I don’t think I will. I’ll make the plates up to get welded.

Mounted up some wheel every weekend security mounts to my IO 87 lb rooftop tent. I’ve been a ground tent camper for years & I’ve always been a “simple camper” but I’m just tired of sleeping on the ground & my buddy hooked me up with this. I’m excited for easier & quicker camp setup.

Sanded, cleaned the metal with acetone, and sprayed a couple coats of primer. Hoping to spray the finish coats tomorrow before the temps start dropping hard. I’m already on the low end for temps as it is, hope everything cures fine.

My wife said no to 37”. :( So 35” it is. With all the cutting/grinding I did, I’m sure 37’s would fit with no rubbing. When the 35” wear out, then I’ll get 37” and get the gears changed too. Tonight I sprayed some Rust-oleum on the bare metal on the bmc.

It looks like your brake line hose is rubbing on the leaf. You may need to bend the bracket, or add a piece of flat stock and extend it upward an inch or two.
Most definitely a hose you do not want to rub through.
