Not so long ago a rule of thumb was: every 5k miles or 6 months, whichever happens first. Oil is cheap, engine is not.

So true, that's why I mentioned at a minimum. It should be every 6 months.

That was my one year oil change from the dealer. My 21 Tundra was held up in the power steering “stop sale” and I didn’t get my truck from the dealer until mid March 2022. I was not a happy camper….

What is the power steering stop sale? I might have missed that.

they stopped selling Tundras because there was a recall on the power steering rack hoses.

If Toyota still had control of the new Tundra, the could not sell it until the power steering rack was inspected and replaced if necessary. All other Tundras in customer hands and built during the affected timeframe were subject to the NHTSA recall. There was a problem of the ends blowing out of the power steering rack because a snap ring groove was improperly machined due to a bad production line cutter.

Both my '20 and my '21 had and have that damn dash rattle on the drivers side by the windshield. The '20 was far worse, but it's there in the '21, too.

My 2021 Tundra is the only recent Toyota I’ve owned that doesn’t creak and rattle on the interior. 2018 Tacoma and 2020 Highlander all had rattles shortly after purchase.

My 1993 T100 was the best built out of everything. The cab was so tight you had to slam the door or crack a window to get the door to latch completely.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I am good with my 21 V8 and am not a fan of turbos. That said, its been a good ride so far and that's after 2 Tacomas and 2 Highlanders. All great vehicles!

I've got nothing against the turbo motors. But there isn't a replacement for the sound of a v8

You'll be happy for a long time. Just crossed 166k on my '14 and don't ever see myself selling it.

21 TRD PRO Lunar Rock with only 12k miles. I think I have the notorious squeak coming from skid plate. Just had surgery so have to wait and try to fix myself. Dealer says it just needed to be tightened, smh! Also, something is wrong with driver door as it pops when it rolls up and down. Need to take to dealer again. Other than this, flawless. lol

In April I was torn between a 2022/23 or a 2021. I was lucky enough to find a 2021 with 3400 miles. I haven’t regretted it one bit. Love the thing.

Where did you get the fog lights, intermittent wipers and heated seats?

It really depends. To my taste, V8 in Tundra/Sequoia screams like pig above 2k RPM. It is totally awesome below 2k, though.

Inline-5 in my turbo Volvo wagon sounds sooooo sweet when it is pushed to the red line. I'm pretty much sure half of Volvos of that era were sold to new to Volvo customers because they took it for a test drive and loved the sound.

    https://youtu.be/YVQydVOhHrI

It's only half cool on that video, the phone's mic does not capture every bit of joy.

I have/had 4 of them. 3 of them were wagons built on the same platform, 2 of them were exact same model, model year, color, trim level, everything, even serial number encoded in VIN was 157 chassis apart. The one I have left now has original factory installed fuel pump and some rubber bushings in rear subframe, everything else was fixed or replaced.

I bought factory black cloth seat covers from a member, to replace the vinyl. Bought the seat heater kit from Amazon or eBay (I'll look it up when I get home later). Bought the fog lights from a member and the intermittent wiper stalk I'll probably order from one of the Toyota parts places like Sparks, etc.
I installed the wiper stalk on my 2015 and it was way easier than I was expecting it to be. It just wasn't a super cheap part.
I check the classifieds here on occasion and wait for deals on factory parts that people upgrade.
All I have left on the list are 2.5 gen TRD wheels and to color match my grille surround and I'm a happy SR owner.
