We got a hell of a deal on our 2020 Highlander Hybrid Limited at CarMax. But even looking there right now, their prices are worse than what FGV linked up. This is basically the only comp I can find, and the lowest priced one at CarMax: https://www.carmax.com/car/24815859

This is the best private sale I can find near me but 2019: https://atlanta.craigslist.org/atl/cto/d/cumming-2019-toyota-rav4-le/7685284117.html

I overpaid for my ‘05 but I don’t regret it one bit. Sometimes even overpaying isn’t all that bad. Dollar per dollar I’d rather have the ‘05 than anything else I could get for that price.

What about a minivan? Praise his fertility? Or laugh at his lack of shame?

You can pick up a brand new Nissan Versa 5 speed or Mitsubishi Mirage CVT for under $20k.

They'll have the personality of a toaster but it'll get the job done.

    That's why I said the 5 speed Versa :p

But Mitsu will put transmissions in it until 100k.

I'd rather over pay for a Toyota than own another Nissan.
Deal and CarMax don't belong in the same sentence today. Their prices are unbelievably high.

They were late to come into the pando-price-hike game. I feel like we got in at just the right time, based on what I'm seeing now. But it also didn't hurt that our Highlander originated in Texas, then got shipped to south FL where the customer refused it, then got shipped again to us in ATL, and arrived with a cracked windshield, some cosmetic stuff with the paint on the rear door (scratches I was able to polish out), parking assist lines not showing from the backup camera, a wonky sunglass holder door that was effectively "broken", and it wasn't detailed worth a shit. CarMax says they have a 'no haggle' price, but when you point all this crap out and the car has moved twice, and you're paying cash money, we managed to get out the door turning a great price into an excellent price, a new OEM windshield, free service at the local Toyota dealership, and several little bits and pieces they threw in for roadside kit and OEM parts I pointed out. :)

I agree. And they managed to improve the 0-60 time by more than 3 seconds. It should be a lot more fun to drive than previous generations.

Hey hey, that's the same era and paint job as my last GM truck. Lots of interchangeable parts between that bastard any my old truck too.

I loved the visibility. Nice big windows all around, you could see everydamnthing. Honestly, if the interior plastics (dash esp.) weren't utter hot garbage, GM didn't have massive issues with their seam sealer cracking to bits, and that very unfortunate cowl leak you can't really fix when it happens, I'd potentially still have it.

Man, I love/hate the pull start on small engines--"hate" because every now and then some dumbazz thinks it's part of their crossfit workout to see how hard and fast they can pull that thing and some little chinesium (even on OEM) plastic part gives up the ghost.
