My yard guy told me that years ago he offered to take it down for $100 but they didn’t want to pay that much. Saturday she said somebody quoted her $500 but she couldn’t afford it. I was able to get the guy to help me for a case of Bitburger which I figured was significantly less than the deductible on my truck. :)

Yeah, I eradicated a big ass tree in my front yard, it was a 3 prong solution as a couple of branches had broken off due to high winds and fallen where cars usually park to visit neighbors, because of the shade it provided. On top of that it was near the water/sewer line. So I got it removed along with it's roots and that was a $1,500 job, It was too wide for me to take it all down by myself, but I did remove most of the branches and have them stored as fire wood. Didin't have a high enough latter, so I jumped on the bed of the Tundra for leverage, LOL

    3 prongs:
    1. saved thousands on ruptured sewer/water lines, neighbor stated previous owner had to repair the sewer line as it was ruptured by the roots 6 years back
    2. saved on being sued by randos parking in front of my house and potentially having branches falling on their cars and ushered randos away from the front of my house, now they have to park in front of the house they're visiting
    3. lifted portion of the driveway can now resettle at the sidewalk height as the roots lifted it up, may need some slight persuasion as sidewalk slightly overlaps a few centimeters into the driveway.

Here’s my latest PITA. Went to replace the toilet and the tile cape up with it. Naturally the subfloor was rotted through so now I’m replacing the affected area and redoing the whole bathroom while I’m at it.

On a serious note, I hate taking care of screens in windows/screen doors with a passion. Super annoying, especially with a cat who thinks it's her mission to try to enter the house via the windows.

Oh big time. This was my first year in my new house, and I noticed an unusual amount of bugs inside this summer, so I think this winter will be time for a good screen inspection and repair. Also, I found out last week that there's no liner or sealant under the bottom plate of my exterior walls, so I'm sure that doesn't help much either.

Converting half a car port into a greenhouse, lol.. it's getting cold and plants don't like it... Had to modify it to fit under the covered patio but works for now... May end up dragging it out to the furthest side of the yard once we feel it gets in the way, or I add more plants. Gotta find my balls and jump up on the roof and fix a crack where I have a small leak on, near a sky light, terrified just to get up there, had no problem sleeping on the netting over the side of an aircraft carrier in the middle of the ocean though... LOL...

Wasn't work, except unloading it from the truck...antique store near us had an old church pew modified into a bench...should be fine on the front porch, just water seal every year...PXL_20231109_200359089.jpg

We got one that's about 12 foot long in our house. I'd poverty to put it outside on the back porch, but am worried about it getting ruined...even with water seal

I know, nervous about outside, but they seem to know their woodwork, said horizontal grain back is fine outside, vertical grain won't hold up. Where we put it, would only get wet during a hurricane (we occasionally get, but we're couple hours from the coast), so we'd move it in, then.

Building another wooden hood for a client. Had to go extra tall as the client has sloped ceilings that will require a slanted cut from the top of the flue. IMG_9343.jpg

Built a table top built out of MDF for the little Mrs. art studio, came together quite nicely and only needed to use one sheet of MDF including the stiffer boards underneath, wrapped the edge with 2 1/2 inch poplar which gave it a nice look, then sealed it up with two coats of varnish

Thanks for the compliment, I have 57 of those windows in my house, each window has nine separate pieces of glass that are glazed in, I’ve gotten quite good at replacing broken glass and glazing them back in

I'm sure that in the beginning of replacing the glass and re glazing them was a serious PIA but the end product I'm sure is really cool.
I can only picture that you have smaller fixed windows going down the staircase from the 2nd floor to 1st floor and could put different colored glass as accents in the corners...
Haha I would prefer Blue like the deep blue ya see in Church.

If freezer section goes out the fridge side won’t stay cold. Check out YouTube videos to troubleshoot and fix. I fixed my garage fridge with new condenser fan and fuse.
