Renewed Faith in Toyota Cust Satisfaction

Well Finally. Toyota is stepping up to correct their faulty Super White paint jobs on 2016-2022 Tacomas. I received a letter today from Corporate they are going to repaint the doors and fenders free of charge where the paint was peeling around the windows and under the hood along the inside of the fenders. My 16’ was peeling there for the past 3 years. Damn, just sold it a month ago!!! (with its peeling paint) This actually renews my faith in the new Toyota Corporate structure and customer satisfaction group. Many but not all of us have pending issues here on the Gen3 Tundra side but I’m confident that eventually they will make it right !!

 

Maybe too little too late. I know 2 folks that gave up and traded their peeling Tacos for other brands after 1-800 Toyo told them tough crap. I don't blame them

 

I notice that every white chevy work van I've ever seen has white paint pealing off the hood. Yoda must have used the same suppler .

 

How much of this was a) ‘do the right thing’ or b) avoid another class action at all possible costs.

 

We have a white Odyssey and the paint is peeling (kid car so not a big deal). In-laws have a while Odyssey (much newer than ours) and paint is peeling. Something about how white is formulated… since it’s across many different manufacturers.. I’m blaming some obscure govt environmental regulation.

 

It you want white always get the pearlized over flat white. Worth the extra $s.

 

Yes. We had that on our Venza and it was beautiful paint. On the Taco I think the paint robot skimped on the inside fender edges and in the door frames -or- they didn’t get the surfaces clean enough before painting.
