Looking for help on some wiring.

Upgraded LED lights for my license plate lights, but they are way too bright. Would it be safe to add a 270ohm 1/2 w resistor to the power wire for those and dim it a bit?

 

An alternative solution I've seen is little light deflectors. to block the light from the camera. Someone sells them but you could DIY.

 

So I believe what I’m going to do is the same thing you would do for the GMC upgraded tow mirrors but in reverse. I’m gunna have the constant to the light with a resistor then connect the bright of them to my reverse light power. So when I go into reverse they get that bright. Because it’s fairly nice to have.
