No Factory Alarm?

I didn't even consider it was possible it wouldn't come with one from the factory so I never asked when buying my 2023 Tundra, but my wife got her 2023 TRD-Pro Sequoia last night and the dealer added an alarm and $799 to the price because of it. I asked why they needed to add one and that's when they told me none of the Toyotas come with an alarm.

Is this widely know? I've owned mostly BMW's and Ford's prior to getting my Tundra which is my first Toyota and I've never had to install an alarm because they all came with one.

Do most people add an alarm? If so which one?

So basically, alarm only goes off if a door opens, what about if someone hits/bumps the car when parked???
