I recently purchased a 2008 Tundra crew max 2wd with 136k miles. Unfortunately the sellers only had one key, the grey key which unknown to me at the time, is the sub key.
Not knowing this was just a sub key I went my local Ace hardware store and ordered a new key which they said they could program when it comes in.

A few days later they tried to program the new key and of course it didn’t work. I can live with that. The problem is after they plugged the gizmo in under the dash to attempt to program the key, 4 dash lights came on. Specifically the Slip Indicator, VSC OFF (blinking), BRAKE and ABS. I mentioned this to the guy that tried the programming and he looked at it again, then made some calls and ended up telling me there can sometimes be a power surge when the key programming is attempted and if I disconnect and reconnect the negative battery terminal the lights should go out. I tried that later at home, both battery terminals, but the lights are still on.

Truck runs great and everything seems to be working fine. I stopped at Autozone and they did a diagnostic check which shows no trouble codes. They suggested trying a Service Interval Light Rest Procedure. I tried a few things regarding that but no luck. It’s an SR5 with a column shifter. Anyone have any idea how to turn these lights off? Thanks!
