I'm sure some of you are aware that people have been modding their Tacomas in about 30 minutes to allow you to run 400W off the inverter even while moving. Guys have been running their trucks like that for years and I have yet to hear a single issue from it. I've been wanting to do this to my truck so I can charge my power bank faster and have been doing some reading into how it might be done on our trucks.

It seems the 3rd Gen Tundras have the same or a very similar inverter to 3rd Gen Tacos so I think it's just a matter of figuring out how to apply the same logic to the Tundra. I'm no wiring expert and I can barely read the diagram, but from what I can tell, the inverter is in relatively the same location as the Tacoma and has the same Park/Neutral position wire. I'm not sure which one that will be once I get down in there or if there is also a speed sensor wire I'll need to cut as well.

Any help from someone smarter about these things would be greatly appreciated!

Here is the write-up for 3rd Gen Tacos: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/how-to-400w-anytime-mod-3rd-gen.436831/

I got the screenshots below from documents listed in this thread: https://www.tundras.com/threads/ultimate-tundra-wiring-diagrams-collection.81448/

They are just fooling the inverter into thinking the truck is is park all the time. By grounding the wire from the park neutral switch you are telling it the truck is always in park.

Cutting the speed wire makes sure the inverter never sees the truck is ever moving at speed. Cut wire means it always sees 0 Mph. If you didn’t do this the inverter would “think” it’s in park but see a speed signal and know somthing was wrong.

Nobody has had issues with electrical overload, pulling 400W while driving? Curious as to why Toyota make it only function in park in the first place.
