There’s an exemption for Ukraine and Israel. I’ve been pondering this freeze of legal exports; trying to figure out what problem it solves. I decided to start a list, as it helps me organize my thoughts. My ideas are as follows

Valid Reasons to Halt Legal Exports

 

29 degrees here, which is pretty cold for this time of year.

I still need to do a final mow too and then winterize the mower.

 

That’s on the to-do list for me today. Might wait till it hits the freezing mark this afternoon

 

So Universal Exports legally sends a case of AR’s to a friendly country. Then the case gets washed thru a few in-country shell companies and the guns magically end up with the bad guys? That makes sense.

 

No, not really.

In case you thought I was joking, I was actually being serious. This type of thing happens in the aviation industry. It is one way countries banned from US exports keep their aircraft flying. Or another form of this is “dual use” equipment. Say a navigation system for a commercial airplane that can be repurposed into something for the military.

I don’t have to deal with this in my 9-5, but still get annual training to watch for it.

 

My thought was the US military wants to further stockpile ammo, for almost certain conflict in the near future.

 

I do this every Thursday via the windows in the Florida Room.... the boys show up and I watch them work...

I could not purchase the equipment for what they charge me and I Like It...

I put fuel stabilizer in the mower then couldn't get the damn thing started to run it through. I guess that's what I get for not mowing since July.

 

I had to do that training when I worked for an American-owned company too. What blows my mind is that (if I understood correctly), if a person is born in a certain country, they're considered a citizen of that country forever and can never handle anything that's controlled, regardless of their actual citizenship or how long they've lived elsewhere.

 

Never heard of someone stop mowing their yard in July, you must not water it and let it die?

 

More like I have 3 kids under 3 and a wife who can't watch them on her own for 20 minutes while I mow.

I don't water so it does grow kind of patchy. It didn't look terrible but probably could have used a trim or two in that time.

Tell her you're working, just not getting paid for it. Maybe she'll give you a few minutes of freedom
