I'd like to get a bed rack that mounts to the OEM bed rails inside the bed rather than sit on top of the bed side. I've been searching here and elsewhere for a bit but haven't found anything like that. Does anyone know of something?

    FrontRunner also.

The bed rails are like 1/8” thick steel mounted onto the bed with some skinny bolts. If you’re planning to just put a bicycle on the rack then that’s fine. If you put anything heavy like an RTT, a spare tire, or just a shit load of camping gear, then the rack will wiggle around and make a shit ton of annoying noises. I’ve been down this road.

Thanks for the heads-up. Planning on a kayak, so probably 50-60 lbs....do you think that's too heavy based on your experience?

I went a different route I had a sheet metal shop bend some 14ga steel at a 90. Cut and trimmed it down a little for curve of bed. Welded some bolts through holes from underneath the piece that sits on top of bed rail area. Then with some t-bolts, mounted that to the bed rail system. I have a tonneau cover that still works and I have a couple different racks that I bolt to the top of the plate I made so I change it out depending on if I want rtt rack or ladder/lumber/ paddle board rack.
Not the prettiest thing but has been very useful now for a few years. And, it puts the weight on the top of bed sides rather than relying on the bed rail system. IMG_1266.jpg IMG_1289.jpg

lots of shops making something that works the same and looks better. At the time I couldn’t find anything to still work with tonneau covers. Now it’s pretty easy to find.
