Everything was working swell and everytime I received lights in the distance my LED bar would shut off with my highbeams..

The problem was on a foggy night, the auto detection system doesn't work well, and guess what, I kept flashing my LED BAR to a cop.. he was pretty mad at first til he spoke to me a bit and calmed down, gave him my rizz charm.

I got out of the ticket but he said if "was angry" he would give me a ticket.. it sure different from how he started the convo..

In any case, I cut the power to my LED BAR right there and then and now have moved it back away from the highbeam circuit into the switch.

    **Ticket avoided**

I wouldn't call it a severe fog more of an annoyance fog and the led bar was doing a good job cutting through but the system didn't recognize spots where you pass over a lake and the fog is really intense once you pass it it was fine.

How, exactly, did you have your light bar "connected" to your high-beam CAN-BUS?

My system\light bar operates flawlessly with my high-beams, no matter the external conditions.
    EDIT:
Is it safe to assume that your truck would flash the cop with high beams, ever w/o the light bar tied into it?
I'm just tryin got determine if the light bar and any canbus interface is/was failing here, or is it simply the Toyota Auto-Highbeam "feature" which simply doesn't work right in adverse conditions.
....in which case - good to know not to use yet another "automated" system, b/c it can't be 100% reliable.

Why not just turn the auto high beams off?

Well as someone noted the auto light system could of been disabled I followed the candy's guide I didn't think of disabling the auto feature goof move in any case just thought if someone else did this setup to be careful is all.

Kinda gives a different meaning to "I flashed a cop on the road today."
    :p

    KitKat,
We kid (well, I am, at least).
I guess I understand this better now, and yes, if your light bar is done properly and there are no issues with its installation and implementation, then thanks for a fair warning that Toyota's "Auto Highbeams" may not function properly in all weather conditions.
I for one never have that button clicked in, b/c I don't trust 1/2 the useless junk in these cars/trucks now-a-days...and I would rather have complete control over when I use high beams (and my light bar in tandem), instead of policing an "auto on" system.

Similar to lane assist, or self-driving mode. What's the use if I still have to keep my hands on the wheel and be ready to react if the system(s) does something unexpected?
I'd never give up on my "high beams + lightbar" mode.
"Ain't nobody got time.jpg" for manual switch light bar ON/OFF operation.......but to each their own.

GLHF, and may all your future runs ins with da Police be as positive as this one (.....since you have an upper hand over us as it is).
    ;)

Probably the same reason he's she's driving on the highway with a lightbar on.

I'm not aware of any state in which it is legal to use a lightbar while driving on the road. Yes, people do it, doesn't mean they should, and in my nearly 30 years of driving, from the high desert to BFE Wyoming, can't say I've encountered a situation where one was necessary.

I can fill this in, I live in upper Canada where you're allowed to use up to 7500 lumens and no more than 4 active lights.

The potential infraction simply comes from having a highbeam circuit on that keeps flashing which the system was doing on its own without my intention.

Being that is said, my led bar is all but 7200 lumens. It's the in grill single row one from RC. I would love a 120000 lumens setup, but then it's not road legal and pointless for me.

Often times I'm in the bush late with the seadoo , dirt bikes or atvs. The 7200 is plenty and does perfect side shooting for me. We have a lot of artery roads here that are quite narrow and the light bar provides what I need to shoot the sides for moose/bears.

So in the end, the led bar is legal to have here.

I'm not aware of any State that allows any auxillary lighting when the high beams are on. Some States will ticket you if any aux lights above the headlights are uncovered while on public roads. A PA cop nailed one of my guys driving a boom truck because a spotlight pointing towards the bed area wasn't covered. What a Dickweed.

I have found it crazy that Toyota was able to include the led bar on the pros and have it function with high beams.Im waiting to get into it with an officer up here about it.

"Oh sorry, my auto-highbeams must not be working right. I didn't mean to flash you 50 times." I'd have written you at least two tickets...

Auto highbeams are one of a few things we'd better off without. It's not fool proof and it makes drivers lazy about paying attention to their surroundings more than they already are.

That is very true, I am not sure why I become "one of those people" I used to manually use the highbeam. It's partly lazyness for sure. I know for a fact that when I am really tired I end up forgetting to turn off the highbeams and make others angry. Gotta love getting old!!!

Mind you not, I do get the "Courtesy flash" even when not using the highbeams.. the toyota 3rd gen lights are very bright.

And someone did mention that the TRD PRO does indeed have a built in LED bar. As I mentioned in case someone passed by it, I live in upper canada where we have more moose/bears then people. (not really but its a close one lol not really...)

I agree. Don't use mine because of those reasons and they switch to low beam way to late for my liking.
