Hi Folks, just bought my new 2024 tundra limited. I asked if there was anyway I could get the 8 inch screen, as I don’t like that giant screen in my face all the time. No dice on that at the dealership. Is it possible to switch that thing out for the smaller screen? I haven’t had any luck finding out.

the factory radios are locked to a specific vehicle. if installed in any other truck, doesnt matter if its the same spec truck, it will be 100% locked out of operation even if reinstalled in the original vehicle. no idea why toyota started doing this.. but they did.

pretty sure its because of the infotainment subscriptions and user data and all that useless shit

Welcome from LA (Lower Alabama)! There are aftermarket solutions but I don't know how much functionality would be lost.

Welcome! I would look into a local audio shop, they would have tons of selections!

I’m sure a lot of members would swap audios with yours. I personally love the large display and dislike the 8” in my Corolla.
