One of the NOAA boats heading out to the Pacific... That thing is a beast!!! For size reference, the small boat heading out in the same direction is a 23' boat, and the fishing boat coming in is probably 60-65' long.

 

You might have to be in tx to appreciate how beautiful this was.

Crater Lake National Park, southwestern Oregon.
I’ve lived here 25 years and this was the first time seeing it. My wife grew up here (53 years) and it was her first time too.

It's beautiful up there... any time of year

 

The first snow had just fallen when we were there.

 

If I recall, this was mid Feb of 2015 when we took about 6 weeks up here to search for a retirement home...

We came up through Reno, then Klamath, then hit Crater Lake; then over to the 5, where we headed north, brief stop in Canada, then back down the 101 looking at communities, resources and homes for retirement...

Although we didn't spend much time there, Crater Lake was in fact breathtaking to see in person and one of the most memorable places that we saw on that trip!!! Well worth the couple of hours we went out of our way to see it...

The one time we went to crater lake my kids were so excited to see it. I was awe struck by the way the clouds had everything shrouded in mystery. My kids, 7 and 9 at the time, were quite unimpressed because they couldn't see enough of it. I'll have to dig out some old photos somewhere on a hard drive. Impressive is an understatement. Funny enough my wife and I were also scoping places to retire. Still hunting for that place to retire but pnw is in our top 3 choices.

 

5 hour drive from my lakehouse and a couple hours of quick paced hiking. So much beauty in the West!

Trees are starting to change colors here...

 

Not my area, but northeast Ohio, where my brother and his wife live, and where I am currently visiting... They took us to the Arboretum where we climbed a 120 foot tower to look over the tree canopy, it was really pretty and the pictures don't do it justice! They had another bridge over the canopy that wasn't nearly as high, but just as nice!!

 

I miss seasons.

 

You could always move... That beautiful dining room I redesigned for you will have your house sold in a couple days I bet!

Spent the day at Truman Lake(Warsaw MO). Couple hour drive for me but worth it. Great day chasing hybrids
