3 inch rough country lift, lift uniball ball joint UCA's 35x12.5's, ultra maverick 18x9 , 17% tint, Jensen v7022 with factory style back up camera in tailgate handle, led interior lights, led plate lights, led fog lights, magnaflow catback
I'm losing it with this problem. My steering wheel shakes almost every speed over 30mph, its worst is at 67-75 mph I've had my tires balanced a few times, alignment done a few times as well. I've changed my outer tirrod ends because they were worn but still no change in the shake. I've got a 3 inch lift on 35x12.5 bfg atko2's.

    Do you have new uca’s?

Sounds like the alignment is not right

I have spc upper control arms with about 20k miles on them. Ball joints are still tight

The next thing to wonder is balance on wheels tires. Some people have issue with non oe wheels and shakes.

What kind of wheels are you running. What shop are you taking it to. If the shop doesn't use the the correct hub adapter to balance the tires, you'll have issues. Had to get my wheels balanced a couple times to get it right before I took a 5k miles roadtrip two weeks ago. It was a pain.

I have the same issue except mine starts at 40ish and is the worst at 70-75.
Mine did it bone stock with 18in wheels and factory tires and it does it the same now with a 3in lift, 35s and no sway bar.
It doesn’t do it 100% of the time and road surface doesn’t matter. Sometimes it does it and sometimes it doesn’t on the same stretches of highway at the same speeds.
My truck only has 57k on it.

These trucks seem to be extremely sensitive to alignments. Toyota’s range of “good” is too loose according to my alignment guy. He uses his own specs and I have zero issues with it

Glad to know I'm not the only one having this issue. I'm running ultras maverick wheels. I'll try to take it to a truck shop I sted of Mavis tire or the dealer. The dealers alignment tech said he can only align based off factory tire size but that my alignment was as good or better then new trucks with any kind of lift

I'd bet the tires aren't balance correctly.

I’m having the same issue. Started with my OEM wheels and tires. Installed Methods and Nittos end of July still doing it. It’s very strange some roads make it shake worse than others. Doesn’t matter the speed. Had the truck realigned and wheels rebalanced - didn’t help.

Yep, sounds like a balancing issue.

Exact same problem with me 2013. Can't figure it out. It's not alignment, tire balance, driveshaft, or bearings. The only thing I can find online is rack and pinion problems. Has anyone else had this problem get fixed by replacing the rack?

    Alot of them
Severely damaged rotors will cause the steering wheel to shake, even without touching the brakes. I just went through that a couple of months ago.

I have the same issue and I also have bfg ko2s. I have been told that this is common with these tires. Also, if you have tpms, have them checked to make sure they are secured. I had one come loose and caused terrible vibrations.

IIRC a fella posted here recently that a new steering intermediate shaft fixed his steering wheel shake.

Yeah I was having this issue for a longggg time. I replaced my lower control arms… still shook, then I replaced my tires from MT’s to All terrains (both sized 295/70/R18) and it still shook. Now at this point I was stuck because my uppers, tie rods, and CV axles were all good. Come to find out my rotors were warped! To say I was pissed was an understatement. But she’s got new shoes, joints and no more shake/shudder! Definitely from my experience, replace those rotors especially if they’ve never been replaced or resurfaced before.
1Aauto.com has pretty good deals and I’ve never had a bad experience when looking for same as factory parts.

I know my wife’s sienna has a bad intermediate shaft and her wheel does not shake. Ever. Just makes the usual clunk

Possibly a bent wheel. Jack the truck up and try to check the runout on the front wheels.

running wheel spacers? Those things are always a big culprit of shaking.

I had a similar issue along with other issues like popping in my steering wheel at slow speeds, while turning. I would look into replacing your intermediate steering shaft assembly. If anything is loose on your current one, it can cause a wobble in your steering wheel as well.

I have a 2013 and this is the part i ordered.

I restore everything to stock still shakes...not the spacers.

Now i suspect its the tires....when i increased the tire pressure to 38 psi in front and 32 in the back 90% of the wobble under 60mph is gone. I havent try above 60 yet

I'm currently having the same issue and it's weird because it only happens on certain roads at 50-70mph. I'm going in for a "Road Force Balance" tomorrow at my local BMW dealership because they're the only ones who have that specific machine in my area and I've seen others online say that fixed their shaking issue. My wheels are Method 701 18x9 +25mm with 275/70/18 Falken Wildpeak AT3W on stock suspension.

Exactly this issue shows how over rated toyotas are. I have a 2008 ford van and the steering wheel feel 10x better. I still have the wobble issue i just disregard it. I also have strange noise coming from my left wheelwell since 5k miles. Let me know how it work out for u
