Noticed a slight leak after heavy rain storm and bought a new gasket for brake light but have not put it in yet. But I don’t think it is just the gasket…cuz I taped the joints of the light…as well as a large gap between where back window meets cab…still leaked! I also put black electrical tape on a small gap of black trim on top of cab…still leaked. I think I stopped it by putting a table on top…lol…but it hasn’t rained all that hard since I did that. Any ideas?

    LOL

So you used a bunch of tape and put a table on top of your truck to stop a leak but did not put in the new gasket you purchased?

    Dude, first things first.

    Is the lens cracked?

Have to take cap off to do gasket…don’t have time to take cap off. I sealed everywhere that water could creep in

How about where the lens butts up against the housing? Maybe a bead of silicone.

There was a gap there but I sealed it with white electrical tape. There was a big gap between window and cab…thought for sure that would be it…sealed with tape…still leaked!!

Gonna leak until you address it properly. Pray for no rain.

And just so I understand, your bio says 2001 TRD Pro, but I didn't think they have that non-suicide door pattern in 2001. I had a 2000 and at that time there was no Pro, just TRD and they were all suicide doors.

I think the water gets in between the housing and the cab usually. I know that there was a redesign of a thicker lens gasket a few years ago. You can't get the gasket that is between the housing and cab by itself.

Yep. I got gigged for that when I first joined…been learning the difference in trims ever since. I have no idea how to change my profile. Tried to fix it but couldn’t edit profile.

After having my back window removed a few weeks ago and seeing the amount of urethane in there, I don't ever see one of them leaking.

Looking closer at that picture , I think it's the actual window molding. That leak doesn't look like it's that close to the 3rd brake light.

Seeing that, he might be able to drop the headliner and trace it.
