The Yamaha was fun, but have switched to a Club Car, got a good deal and wanted an EV :)

Finally put the 5100s on the truck and got rid of my 2" levelling blocks. For a 2WD DC the 3rd ring adjustment is just what I'm looking for.

    20231015_141738.jpg
First measurement was with the 2" levelling block.
    20231015_122002.jpg
Second measurement is with 5100s on 3rd setting. Brought the front end down about 9/16".
    20231015_155558.jpg

With the old levelling block and factory rear leafs the truck was slightly higher in the front vs the rear. Now it's just slightly lower in front as God intended.

How does she ride? I know it’s apples to beats, but I like my 5100s on the 4R way better than the 6112 on the tundra!

That is the money shot, under her skirt at the greasy bits. Yes, used stock springs at 3rd snap ring, factory rear leafs too.

Here's a side shot of it in the garage. Drove about 18 miles of windy back road so she should be settled in by now. And bonus shot of my October passenger.

I've had 5100s in previous Yotas and they ride great. I had blown bottom bushings in the stock shocks so it rides smoother now. Had a lot of vibration with the stock TRD shocks. Was planning on just replacing the bushings in the stock shocks but decided to exercise my credit card.

I've put my old shocks, 2" lift blocks, and new shock/strut lower bushings up for free in the main forum:

It's funny to see people's reactions. With tinted windows it's hard to see but I get a lot of comments and reactions in drive throughs. I'm a 40 year old child.

The last few months I've been noticing an issue at low speed. Mainly when I make a hard left out of my garage. I can feel something which I thought was from the rear of the truck, but can't hear it. I really had no idea what it was until people started discussing diff chatter in a recent thread. After chatting with @shifty` about it, I decided to try some TransX limit slip additive.

I dumped half the tube in Saturday. I've only driven the truck a few times since then but I haven't noticed the same issue. I was skeptical this would do anything because I'm already running Lucas gear oil.

More seat time is needed but I'm hoping this works. I'm also slightly concerned the LSD is going out.

I kinda foolishly put that in my rear diff too, after the regear and swap to torsen LSD. I kinda wonder if it does any damage and I should flush and fill my diff again. But I don't think I hear anything.

I put 2/3 of a tube in my rear diff when trying to recover from the faux pas of installing Mobil1 synthetic in my rear. I saw no residual effects after a drain/fill with Lucas 80w90.

@FirstGenVol slip additive is just that: Same stuff oil manuf'er put in (as part of their additive package). There's already some of the same stuff in the fluid you've got in your diff. If I understand correctly, it just adheres to the clutch pads adding lubricity. Once you dump the fluid out and replace, new fluid will dilute/rinse it. I don't believe it will damage anything, but it can make your diff slip when you may otherwise need it not to. I suspect chatter will do more wear damage than slip.

Did you say you had just straight 80w90 Lucas in there prior? Conventional, non-synthetic?

I installed this after lunch today

HECASA Steel Grille Guard Compatible with 2000-2006 Toyota Tundra 2001-2004 Sequoia Bull Bar Front Bumper Grill Grille Guard Protector Brush Push Bar Black Power Coated https://a.co/d/25BU8nF

Install was pretty straightforward. Start at the bottom. Remove the recovery hooks and assemble piece by piece. Took about one hour. It’s actually surprisingly sturdy. I’m happy with it.

I never considered the antenna. What's your answer going to be?
After the Tacoma's antenna was amputated by a tree, I got a soft wire antenna, plugged it in & routed it behind the dash. Sux.

If anyone is around Escondido and need some organization, I’ve been hunting for a companion to my existing Akro mills bolt/nut storage and I ran across this, which is a great deal for local pickup in Escondido, it just lacks the top caddy handle strap, and has a single cracked drawer…. https://www.ebay.com/itm/266416170925
