Hi folks, just joined the forum. Having recently retired (luckily still in my early 50's) I told myself I'd be getting a new Tundra when the day finally arrived. Unfortunately I do NOT want a turbo v6, so I guess I'll be buying a late model used one. I'll be looking for a higher trim level and one other thing I do NOT want is that stupid auto engine shut down at every red light.

I've read somewhere that some Tundra's have that feature, but maybe I'm mistaken... My wife's car has it and it drives me nuts, it can be disabled on her vehicle, only it has to be done every time the car is started! I've looked, but I can't find any details about this on the Tundra's so my question is, if anyone knows, which trim level has this feature and can it be PERMANENTLY disabled somehow, even if the dealer has to do it! Thanks in advance guys for any info!

The Gen 2.5s (2014 - 2021) don't have the engine shut off feature that I am aware of. I have a 2020 and it doesn't have that feature.

    Welcome from NY.
If you plan on towing, 2018 was the last year with the transmission cooler. It can be added to the 2019/2021's.
If you don't like chrome get a TRD Sport, everything is color matched.
    Good luck with your search.

Welcome, and congrats on your retirement!

I'm with you on the auto start/stop. We had a rental car recently with the and it drove me nuts. I probably looked like I was having a seizure at red lights 'cuz I was constantly letting the car lurch forward a few inches so it wouldn't shut off.

Like you, I didn't want the TT V6, and I personally don't care for the look of the new body style.
I found a 2019 CPO with 20K miles and I'm really happy with it.

    Good luck in your search.

I tow without the transmission cooler. S4 tow/haul mode. No issues. I will add one one day. Maybe.

    Same here.

I might add one if I were towing more often or heavier (With these pesky FT jobs we're lucky to go once a month, if that and my TT is only 5,500 lbs)

Probably get a Scangauge to monitor temps at some point, and we'll see.
