    Lots of stuff!
Do you think the maintenance schedule of 10k miles between oil changes combined with the 0w20 oil has an effect on the bearing life?

I was looking at uptick in these failures and they seem to be happening after the first or second or third 10k oil change. If the bearings were faulty, wouldn't we see the bearing pack it in much sooner.

When I changed my oil at 2500 miles, it was dark and smelled of fuel. I can't see the oil lasting 10k miles and doing any good for the bearings when it is all dirty and half gas. My thought would be to do the increased oil changes to keep the oil fresh.

I wouldn't pay 30k for an engine replacement in a mass produced vehicle. Get fucked.

I used to buy Cummins long blocks from Rocky Mountain Cummins for 3700-3900.00. Book time was 26 hours to R&R. So for just under 9k I could install a brand new motor, some upgraded sticks and turbo, and have a happy customer for another 2-400k miles.

I assume you're talking 5.9/6.7's? And by install you mean into an existing 5.9/6.7 application?

Yes sir. Actually 5.9L B6. I got out of the Cummins diesel scene around 2007 right before the 6.7L.
