Of course. I didn't need one at home because I had access to industrial grade machines at work.

I've been thinking about getting a MIG machine for my garage now that I'm no longer in the industry. I was actually looking at the Lincoln 211i today. It's spool gun capable which would be nice. I'd like a multi process machine but I don't like their muli-thousand dollar price tags...

 

Mix some mayo with the ketchup, heathen. Poor man's fry sauce is at least edible.

Pumpkin pie is always good, unless someone makes it at home and fuks it up. But I always get store bought and it's always about the same. I like it, but I can live without it.
Apple pie on the other hand, seems to vary widely, both store bought and homemade.
I've had apple pie that I'd fight a baby over and I've had apple pie that I wouldn't feed my enemies.

I was wondering if you would show up today

 

Trip pics...I shall start with food.

Dinner the first night. We walked about 30 minutes from the hotel to a cluster of small restaurants. After some searching we dove into a small joint b/c it was busy. Turns out the only protein they serve is lamb...which was amazing.

Most of the work days were 11-12hrs (including the train commute), so most dinners were at the hotel (room service). However, we did have a dinner with the customer one night. Lots of beer, sake and Japanese whiskey was drank with the multi-course dinner. BTW, if you make reservation for 10 people and only 9 show up, the restaurant still makes 10 dinners...so I got double on most of this stuff.

We got tired of the hotel breakfast and had time Saturday morning to hit the old fish market. This is where for decades (centuries?) the daily fish auction was held until recently. It's now just a cluster of restaurants and shops. Pretty touristy, but there were a lot of locals there.



My coworkers wanted to order more sushi and I said "meat stick"...which peaked their interest...If you believe the signs, this is the top grade Kobe beef. It was amazing...basically beef butter.

Coworker wanted to visit the "electronics" district, so I tagged along. Didn't see any electronics stores; but apparently was the anime zone...

Japan is having a huge push to make the city more accessible for the elderly. Most sidewalks we saw had this yellow line down the middle for the blind to follow. Still cannot figure out why this sign is posted every 50' in the brail track

How did the prices compare to home?

 

Food is pretty cheap and much better quality. Hotel was expensive AF. The breakfast buffet was $40...criminal.

 

So what was the conversion amount for that 10,000$ rank meat stick??

I calculated it at about $67 USD. It must have been terrific at that price.
