Well after reading a couple of ghost vibration posts I realize that it could be jumping down a rabbit hole posting this but here goes…..

2020 Tundra 4x4 DC long bed with 30k on it when I took it into a locally recommended shop to “upgrade” the suspension and lift the truck…..3” in the front with the Icon adjustable coil over and 1.5” in the rear with the Icon Leaf expansion pack…….also added the TRD front sway bar and proper Icon UCA’s to match the front coil overs…….

Truck went on a flat bed and got towed right to my local tire alignment shop and the alignment was done immediately before driving. The suspension lift, UCA’s, front sway bar, rear leaf expansion pack and Rear struts were all done using factory tires and wheels. Alignment was also done using stock wheel/tires.

when I got the truck back from the alignment shop, which was after all the suspension work, I noticed a slight vibration at low speed, around 10 mph. Today was the first day I drove it at highway speeds and I have pulling to the right when I let go of the wheel, to me, it’s noticeable. Also when I let go of the wheel, the wheel shakes a bit, along with what feels like subtle vibration in the front end.

First thing that comes to mind is something with all the suspension work that was done or possible the front sway bar install……something not done correctly……?

I swapped over my 20” carved alloy wheels with nitto terra grapplers on them a couple days after I got the truck back (after suspension install & alignment) but drove the truck for a few days after the work with the original tire/wheel setup. I don’t think switching over back to the 20’s has anything to do with the vibration but it may be why it’s pulling to the right…….the tires have some miles on them……

I have this sinking feeling that all the suspension work that was done has the consequence of taking away the factory tune/ride that comes with the stock suspension, and maybe it just is how the truck is gonna ride feel other than it pulling and the steering wheel shaking slightly which could be due to the tires being worn……

    any feedback appreciated…..

Driving characteristics will always be different after a lift. Start with all the basics, check the torque on all bolts, get your wheels balanced, maybe get it re aligned.

If you are looking for stock driving characteristics though, you'd have to bring it back to stock.

You are definitely going to feel things a bit more with the lift and the tires but it should not be pulling and vibrating like that. Either your alignment was not done correctly or the new tires are unbalanced. I just added a new lifted suspension to my truck with adjustable UCA's and had to take it in 3 times to get them to align it properly and now it rides great. Do you feel a vibration when you accelerate too? If so it could be that the shop did not install a carrier bearing drop which balances the driveline out to eliminate the vibration caused by lifting the rear suspension.

Thanks guys for the reply's.....all spot on.

Nathan, what you said about the carrier bearing drop balancing out the drive line eliminating the vibration caused by lifting the rear sounds exactly what is happening.....

I know they did not install a carrier bearing drop......I honestly didn't even know about it.....

I'll have to look into it.

As far as it pulling I suspect the wheels are def out of balance.......didn't think of that, but it could def caus it to pull......when I got it back from the alignment with the 18" factory wheels and tires it didn't pull and there wasn't any shake in the steering wheel.......

I'll swing by and talk to them, been doing business with them for years so I can talk to them about it.....

I'll have to look into the carrier bearing drop.

    Thnks
