Yes, I know. I'm not sure what I'll do when my old iPhone X won't work anymore. My employer already replaced the battery once to keep me happy.

Xfinity mobile has great deals right now if you switch and trade in your phone. I think it ends tomorrow. Only catch is you need comcast internet to get the deal.

MIL did so. Kept having problems with service, couldn't get any help, iPhone locking up for minutes at a time. Switched back to Verizon 6 weeks later. Total cost: $650 out of pocket. Do not recommend.

Existing, stereo shop did a very poor job for my dad on it. I have a new tail light harness and a new reverse camera to put in the tailgate handle. I could just bust out the soldering gun. I saw some t connectors on sale on prime, that’s why I was asking.

Google Pixel line after 5(not 100% on that I know the 6 series does) has a dual SIM 1 physical, 1 eSIM. Manufactured in Vietnam, now I believe they've shifted to India.

I can do a T off the taillight for reverse. Grabbing power for the camera when not in reverse, though, not sure how best to help with that.

It's been several years since I have calculated my average miles per gallon. I decide on my last fill up to calculate a few things. For science, of course. First, I wanted to see exactly how far I could go on a full tank. Second, I wanted to find out if my low fuel light was still functioning. Lastly, I wanted to calculate about how far I could go with the low fuel light on (if it indeed was still functional).

I have been and always will be a person who never (except this one time) runs their tank down below a quarter. Most of the time I fill up at about a 1/3 full. I do this for the obvious reasons that the fuel pump is cooled by having fuel in the tank and also because I don't want the trash in the tank to be picked up by the pump. Also, when I fill up, I always stop filling at the first click of the pump handle. I never put in any more than that.

I can confirm that my low fuel light does in fact still function.

I managed to crawl into the QT on fumes after 4.7 miles with the light on.

Filled up. We all know these trucks have a 22 gallon tank I can assume that the filler neck holds about half a gallon. I pumped 22.572 gallons into the truck until the first click of the pump handle. BTW, I have never had it this low and will never take it this low again.

So with 293.4 miles on a single tank and filling up 22.572 gallon, I can say that my average is 12.99 miles per gallon.

I will add that my commute is mostly city driving. I have a 28 mile round trip to work and back home each day. My morning commute is 10 miles of in the city driving and 4 miles on the open highway. My afternoon commute is 14 miles of stop and go, slow crawl on the highway and the back roads.

I decided to order TRE's before swapping the LBJ's. Anyone know what the difference is pre-08/02 & post 08/02? I wonder if that was why some folks TRE's went too far into its tapered hole?

anywho. Not all of the options have the date or size listed...

My fuel light quit working long ago. If I pull the cluster again I’ll replace the bulb. I’ve run my truck smooth out of gas twice. I’ve put 24.8 gallons in it before. I average between 13-15.8mpg in everyday driving and 16.8 freeway cruising only at about 70-74mph. Your numbers all seem to line up with mine.

Is that a thing? I wasn't aware of that. I like to run the truck below a quarter when I'm dumping a can of Seafoam in it.

Yes. I have seen many fuel pumps overheat and shut down. People on long road trips in the summer. Most of the time they function completely fine after they've cooled down.

It's definitely a thing that gets cited as a concern, but with possible skepticism needed.

Typically modern EFI tanks are baffled in a way that (in theory) should help keep the pump generally surrounded with fuel while also preventing excess slosh. But there's no reasonable baffle design on the planet that's going to allow for the pump to remain reasonably submerged below 1/4 tank, despite the pump needing to have its tail basically submerged even at 95% empty tank. The only reason I use the word "skepticism" in my 1st sentence is, it's important to realize any time the pump is running, it's pulling [colder] fuel through the body of the pump itself, which also has a cooling effect. Some fuel pumps are designed with extra passage through the pump body with that flow/cooling in mind. I've heard others argue, "if the pump was truly getting hot enough to hit premature fatigue, NHTSA would never allow it to be immersed in a giant canister of flammables, it's an explosion waiting to happen". There may be truth in that as well, suggesting the heat argument could be overstated.

I favor @The Black Mamba's M.O. - refill at 1/4 tank, no less than 1/8 tank. Even if premature fuel pump fatigue from heat is as-much urban myth as 'never change transmission fluid on a never-serviced transmission'. I have a funny feeling both have similar origins, or are remnants from a time when both/either may've been true for specific situations/models/era, but that time may've passed.

Like other folks mentioned you've still got like 4 gallons in the tank, from what I've seen this seems to be a fairly regular thing through the Tundra years.

Also unless your tank is rusting from the inside crud in the tank isn't a large concern either. The pump is always pulling from the bottom where it would settle anyway and there's a sock on the pump to prevent it from getting picked up.

And there's an inline filter on most EFI vehicles between the pump and fuel rail, just in case anything where to actually pass the screen, or the screen failed. OEMs would have to be crazy not to apply a failover in the fuel system, knowing you could destroy an engine if the fuel pump pickup sock fell off.

But it's never the fuel filter ;)

(unless the sock isn't there, and I owned at least 1 Pontiac that had no sock!)

Aww heck, you could of put 4 more gals in there if fully empty since 1st Gen's spec out at 26.4 gal fuel tank.

Our RAV4 supposedly has a 15.9 gallon tank. I have driven with the light on for a long time and never got anywhere close to that when filling up. I think I got maybe 13 gallons in? I guess it shows the gas gauge isn't completely accurate.
